Principal’s Message

Dear Panda Nation Families –    A woman with long, layered brown hair smiles warmly at the camera.

I am excited to welcome you to the 2025-2026 school year! Our vision at Shingle Creek Elementary School is aligned with the district’s vision:  To ensure every student has a promising and successful future.  The elementary school years are a critical time for our scholars, and we look forward to your support in ensuring their time with us is filled with accomplishments. Our staff is well equipped to lead our scholars to success academically, socially, and emotionally.  This school year, we will be guided by the theme “You are a VITAL piece of our puzzle of success!”. With this in mind, know that each of us will have a role to play to ensure that our scholars and our school community are successful.

I am honored to serve as your principal and work alongside a dedicated and hard-working team.  Our Panda Nation families are important to us and to the success of Shingle Creek Elementary.  We invite you to be an active participant in our learning community.  We have planned several events and activities for the year with our families in mind.  Join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA), School Advisory Council (SAC), and remember to sign up as a school volunteer.  Also, in an effort to maintain consistent communication, please ensure that you update your phone number and address with the front office whenever there is a change and opt in to receive messages through Parent Square.

For the 2025-2026 school year, we are encouraging our scholars to wear a prescribed uniform to school daily. Wearing school uniforms promotes school pride, unity, and a productive learning environment. Our scholars are encouraged to wear polo-style shirts in white, black, and any shade of blue, with khaki or black bottoms or dresses.

I look forward to a successful school year at The Panda Nation, where excellence is what we do!

Dr. Farah L. Henderson, Proud Principal
